A Mind In Motion

Van Gogh’s life and work were reimagined as a four-part immersive narrative, blending digital interpretation with emotional storytelling. Commissioned by Theatre of Light and directed by Nohlab, the experience transformed his journey into a sensory environment shaped by sound, light and motion.

MotionCraft translated the expressive energy of Van Gogh’s brushwork into a dynamic velocity field using Houdini. This abstract system was used to convey mood, movement and memory. It brought his inner world to the surface. From the calm of the countryside to the isolation of Saint Rémy, we followed the arc of his life not by facts, but by feeling.
